CoLinK: Cooperative Knowledge Management for Engineering Teams
Due to today’s increasingly complex processes in planning and design, knowledge management (KM) is becoming a crucial factor of success in the engineering sector. In a participatory design project we created a prototype for a process oriented KM system (CoLinK), which allows engineers to jointly model projects with generic process descriptions, creating a virtual engineering community within th...
متن کاملLearning Design, generic service descriptions and universal acid
This paper examines the contention that learning environments which use IMS Learning Designs can be created by plugging in different components, using generic service descriptions to create the interface between the Learning Design (LD) and the specific tools. There is an alternative viewpoint which claims that generic service descriptions cannot provide the richness required to fully utilize L...
متن کاملDefining Intangible IS Project Products Using PRINCE2 Product Descriptions
Achievement of strategic organisational objectives is dependent on the development and management of an organisation’s tangibles and intangibles, with an increasing need for the improved management of intangibles. Therefore it can also be expected that there will be an increasing reliance on projects to deliver a combination of tangible and intangible outcomes (e.g. relationships, leadership, l...
متن کاملUse Case Authoring: Replicating the CREWS Guidelines Experiment
Use cases have become an important tool in software engineering. There has been much focus on the diagram notation but relatively little on use-case descriptions. As part of a welcome and important research project into the use of scenarios in requirements engineering, the CREWS team has proposed a set of guidelines for writing use-case descriptions. This paper describes the replication of a CR...
متن کاملGenerating Multilingual Personalized Descriptions of Museum Exhibits - The M-PIRO Project
This paper provides an overall presentation of the M-PIRO project. M-PIRO is developing technology that will allow museums to generate automatically textual or spoken descriptions of exhibits for collections available over the Web or in virtual reality environments. The descriptions are generated in several languages from information in a language-independent database and small fragments of tex...
